In this five year span of time, 2,280 movies were released for audiences, 1937 led with 495 movies. Not listed during this era are the wonderful Thin Man series starring William Powell, Myrna Loy, and Asta, the dog. On a trival note, my grandmother wanted to name me Myrna. Oh my, to be named for such a neat lady. I would have been okay with it if I could have had a airdale, too!

Of Mice and Men
A novella by John Steinbeck turned movie. "In every bit of honest writing in the world there is a base theme. Try to understand men, if you understand each other you will be kind to each other. Knowing a man well never leads to hate and nearly always leads to love. There are shorter means, many of them. There is writing promoting social change, writing punishing injustice, writing in celebration of heroism, but always that base theme. Try to understand each other." John Steinbeck.

I love The Wizard of Oz, it is a yearly tribute for me. And I watch it with the child like heart and as if I have neither seen it before. Hope you do too!
