HEADLINE: PROSECUTION MUST REVEAL WITNESSES IN LINDBERGH CASE

Judge Gunnar H. Nordbye Rules on Several Motions Trial Will Open April 2.

The prosecution was under federal order Monday to furnish the defense with a list of all the witnesses it plans to use against James P. Taylor in the Lindbergh slaying trial.

Taylor, 30, Detroit ex-convict, goes on trial April 2 for the slaying of Kenneth E. Lindbergh, 44, Thief River Falls bank cashier.

Federal Judge Gunnar H. Nordbye, who will preside at the jury trial of Taylor in Minneapolis federal court, gave George MacKinnon , United States District Attorney until today to make a list of witnesses available. There are reportedly nearly 100 witnesses.

The judge’s order also disposed of 10 other defense motions including one that the trial be held in Elk River, seat of the county in which Lindbergh’s body was found last November 25, 13 days after his disappearance.

The trial is expected to last about a month.
