June 1915 Thief River Falls
A band of roving gypsies traveling in six wagons and two buggies arrived in town Thursday and began a canvas of the city telling fortunes. Several of the female members of the band pretended to be magicians, and clearly demonstrated the fact when they picked the pockets of several residents. They were headed out of the city and left for Bemidji. It has been learned that this same band has been chased from practically every place at which they have stopped.

June 1922 Rosewood
Rosewood News Two dentists representing the New York Dentist Company were in town to see if Rosewood should be put on the list to visit.

August 1923 Rosewood
Rosewood News A five ton elephant became unmanageable during its performance last Thursday evening. It walked out tearing loose two sides of the tent, upsetting wagons and damaging some standing autos in his way for liberty, but luckily it did not hurting any humans. The beast took off in a fierce gallop along the road going south and although horseback riders and cars were on his trail in less than a minute, he avoided all pursuits for 24 hours.

He was approached and brought back to the company. It was understood that the elephant, which was claimed to be the largest performing elephant now following any traveling circus, was not absolutely safe but under the care of his master and with great precaution was exhibited in small towns. For some reason, his usual trainer was left behind in Newfolden.
