DREAMS Ancestors

Old Trunks picked this date, 26 August, as a day to talk about ancestors in our dreams and what they may mean because one of my grandmother's was born on this day in 1901. Although Mae wasn't my lineage grandmother, she was, for all practical purposes, a caring soul who was always there with her sweet, precious way of making things work.

When we are children, we do not judge adults on how intelligent they are. We are not drawn to them because of an IQ, rather because they have a type of soul that allows us to walk in and out of them without doors shutting. They are safety zones.

It is a day she should be toasted with her own depression glass and glads should be on the dining room table in memory of her. She worked hard and nursed her husband Phil for nine long years as a bed bound husband. While he napped, she sat in the dining room near the window and made doll clothes out of fine thread wearing his glasses because she could not afford her own.

What do we learn about dreaming of ancestors?

Ancestors
To dream about your ancestors, suggests that you are acknowledging your inherited traits and tradition. You may be trying to hold on to the past and preserve it.

Grandfather
To see your grandfather in your dream, symbolizes tradition, protection, wisdom, and a caring nature. Consider the qualities and characteristics that exist in your own grandfather.

Grandmother
To see your grandmother in your dream, represents nurturing, protection, and unconditional love. Consider the qualities and characteristics that exist in your own grandmother.

Grandparents
To see your grandparents in your dream, symbolizes love, security, wisdom and protection.

To dream that you are searching for your grandparents, signifies your search for love and protection. You may be regressing to childhood needs.

Until my sweet Thomas, I did regress. When I was frightened my mantra was grandma's lap. I would focus on the creak of the rocker as I sat in her lap as well as the aroma of baking bread and her humming. It seems odd that, after all those years, the rocker is silent all because I have love and protection in TCJ.

It's a good dream, nevertheless.
